Our artists use a variety of art media to express their creativity. Depending on the artwork, limited editions are sometimes available in more than one medium. This section explains not only the media but also demystifies some of the terms used when reproducing limited editions.
Books come as limited and standard editions, and feature compilations of the artist’s work, and an opportunity to see their inspirations and techniques.
Presently one of the most popular methods of displaying artworks is the box canvas. An ideal medium for those who need a speedy solution to art presentation, box canvas’s come ready-to-go. The canvas is stretched over a wooden frame and many modern works benefit from this style of framing.
These editions generally use the high quality giclée printing technique over canvas in place of paper. Canvas has been the staple of artists for centuries. It is one of the most recognised art media and offers an enhanced texture for particular artworks. Canvas is often stretched, or presented as canvas on board and framed.
This printing process produces a relief image from ink applied to a collage of different materials, set onto a solid surface.
In addition to sculptures some of our artists produce ceramics and glass ‘objets’ as part of their collections.
This high resolution lithographic printing technique has been specifically developed to capture the fine detail expressed in artworks. Our standard edition is Giclée on paper and produced using the finest materials, ensuring that the original piece is faithfully reproduced. Giclée limited editions are often enhanced by mounting/matting and then framed under glass.
Two artists use this medium for their work. Richard Rowan’s individual style of laying down the paint from beneath the glass, his unique skyscapes take shape from above. Louis Sidoli uses layers of glass fused to create unique tiles depicting urban scenes and cityscapes.
The lithographic printing process uses photographic techniques to capture the original image on printing plates. The final image is produced once the plates run through a printing press applying inks - normally on paper.
Whilst some artists specialise in sculpture, others create sculptures to add a further dimension to their works. Resin (a synthetic material suited to sculptures), bronze and porcelain are the most common materials for casting.
As it’s name suggests a fabric screen is used to produce the final image. Screen printing is one of the more versatile printing techniques and variety of media can be used to great effect, including canvas.
Novelty items from the artist - that don’t fit into any other category!
Listed dimensions relate to the actual image size, using inches to the nearest quarter inch. Dimensions for mounted/matted pieces depend on requested specifications. Any artist, title or edition notations are not normally included within the dimensions.
Trade prices are available to our trade customers. To take advantage of trade discounts you will need to complete the trade registration and sign up as a trade customer.
For volume purchasing all customers are able to benefit from additional select discounts. These are applied on an individual basis.
The number of standard limited editions available in this series is indicated by the edition number. There may also be special limited editions such as ‘Artists Proof(AP)’ in addition to the standard limited edition.
