Scott Carruthers

Scott Carruthers’ thinks of his current paintings as ‘Nostalgic Observations’, insights into the imaginative fantasy worlds that kids invent, populate and explore.

Capturing the essence of childhood with his absorbing knee high figures Scott Carruthers takes us back in time through our own rites of passage; a time of newspaper rounds and building snowmen.

“Someone recently commented on my work, suggesting its likeness to the animation of Raymond Briggs story ‘When The Wind Blows’” Scott explains.

Born in New Zealand, Scott has spent most of his life in England and now based in ‘The Fair City’ of Perth, Scotland.
