Karl Fjellstrom

There is a striking intimacy to the paintings that Karl Fjellstrom produces; you could almost be in his studio, watching him paint, as a viewer or perhaps even the model.

Using oils on canvas, blending colours and objects to give them a photo realistic quality, Karl Fjellstrom draws on those around him, friends and lovers - past and present - for his inspiration.

More than just laying down the image of the person, Karl digs deeper, “The images I make are inspired by the people, in particular emotion, sexuality and mystery”, he explains.

Born in California, Karl Fjellstrom now lives, loves and paints in Seattle on the West Coast of America.
