Edward Monkton

The inspired musings of Edward Monkton aka Giles Andreae are the latest additions to the Urban Galleries portfolio. Monkton came to prominence as the creator of the fantastically successful ‘Purple Ronnie’ character.

Edward Monkton is widely regarded as “Britain’s best-selling living poet and an icon of contemporary popular culture”. His words and imagery are internationally recognised too, especially by his devoted North American followers.

Philosophical, thought provoking and humorous this initial series of six artworks includes thoughts on such basic aspects of humanity as ‘Love’, ‘Life’ and ‘Freedom’ and perhaps this writer’s personal favourite ‘Shoes’.
